چکیده

This paper aims to review one of the least used, but no less important, approaches in assessment environmental implications electricity generation: Economic Input-Output Life Cycle Assessment (EIO-LCA). methodology is a top-down approach intertwined with satellite accounts provided by national statistical office. Through use economic input-output (IO) tables and industrial sector-level energy data, EIO-LCA analysis allows for broad impact coverage all sectors directly indirectly involved generation. In this study, brief overview corresponding assumptions presented, as well an updated different applications generation, suggesting possible classification many studies developed context. The ways overcoming problem disaggregation sector are also addressed, namely considering IO table formats (i.e., symmetric or rectangular tables). particularly relevant feature our review, way which generation modeled can result calculations costs benefits policies. context, further contributes literature explaining providing examples distinct modeling models on detailed level.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Technical, Economic and Environmental Assessment of Electricity Generation from Solid Municipal Waste: Case of Mashhad

The purpose of this study is to assess the possibility of generating energy from waste and reducing the consequences of unconventional waste disposal in urban areas of Mashhad. The findings indicate that among five variants under study, variant 5 which allocated the highest energy efficiency, the lowest costs, and the least amount of greenhouse gases to itself was applicable for the city of Mas...

Economic, Social and Environmental Assessment of Electricity Generation from Renewable and Gas Technologies

Growing demand for electricity and the reduction of fossil fuels have made it essential to consider alternative and renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, to generate electricity. In this paper, by computing levelized output energy cost and levelized cost of electricity, the prices of electricity generated from the different combined cycle, wind, and photovoltaic power plants are com...

Economic Input-Output Models for Environmental Life-Cycle Assessment

Process and product models are commonly used for performing life-cycle assessments (LCAs) of the environmental impacts of materials and products through different stages of fabrication, use, and end-of-life options. In this article, we show that these models can be represented as process flow diagrams or as matrices of process interactions. In either representation, the inventory of environment...
